Karl Jenkin's The Armed Man was completed in 1999 and is dedicated to the victims of the conflict in Kosovo, which was taking place during the composition of the work.
Katie Noonan and Andrew O'Connor's new composition sets the words of Saint Francis of Assisi to sit alongside The Armed Man. Over time, Katie has come to realise that the music is actually written for her father Brian who passed away in March 2024, with the notes of the piece being the last music that he heard.
