Builders across North Canberra have told the ABC that their sites are being targeted for copper.
They say that they are literally having it ripped out of walls – causing thousands of dollars' worth of damage, worth far more that the wire itself.
ABC Canberra's Georgia Stynes spoke to Canberra Builder Chris Walmsley, from Walmsley Building, who has been working in the industry for almost 20 years.
