Antony Funnell is a Walkley Award winning journalist and broadcaster.
He is also the author of several books including the non-fiction work The Future and Related Nonsense (Harper Collins) and the satirical novel So Far, So Good (Hybrid).
His play The Tram was a finalist in the 2006 Queensland Premier's Drama Awards.
Antony has been the presenter of Future Tense on Radio National since 2009. Prior to that he fronted the Media Report.
During his career he has worked for many of Australia's leading news and current affairs programs, including AM, PM, 7.30 Report, Background Briefing and Radio National Breakfast.
In the late 1990s he was also the senior producer for Australia Television News — ABC TV's then nightly satellite news service into the Asia/Pacific region.
He won the Walkley Award for Best Radio Feature in 2006. He was also a finalist in 2003. Is other awards include three United Nations Media Awards, a NSW Bar Association Media Award, a Worldfest Flagstaff International Film Festival Award (USA) for television production and the New York Festival's Silver World Medal, also for television production.
